As Program Manager at WPEO-DC, Katlin N. Barrett oversees the WBENC certification process for women-owned businesses in Washington DC, Virginia and Maryland. She guides firms through the process of certification and helps provide links between women entrepreneurs and business opportunities in the private sector. Katlin assists in developing effective programming and opportunities for WBEs for the overall mission of increasing access for WBEs.
Prior to joining WPEO, Katlin worked as a brand specialist for Honest Tea, Illy Coffee and Cremenilli’s Fine Meats at various locations around in the Virginia Area. As an Instructor and Social Researcher at George Mason University, Katlin taught Interpersonal Communication and Public Speaking and conducted interviews for the Center for Social Science Research.
Katlin earned her Master’s degree in Interdisciplinary Studies in Public Sociology, Higher Education and College Teaching at George Mason University. She received her Bachelor of Science in Applied Sociology with a Concentration in Law and Society from East Carolina University after spending a semester abroad at Manchester Metropolitan University in England.
